The TPO1 was designed in several variants to meet the industrial standards for categories 20, 21 and 22, generally referred to as hazardous area classifications ATEX/IECEx zones for combustible dust, or the ANZSIC (Australian and New Zealand standard industrial classification) for manufacturing industries in high-risk to low-risk areas.

The TPO1 has an Ingress Protection rating of IP66 and IP69K to meet the adverse demands of industrial waste spills. It also meets the IK10 (International Knock) rating and has New Zealand & Australian electrical standards SAA approval.

An installation of TPO1 linear LED luminaires located in very adverse conditions in a fertilizer manufacturing plant was recently involved in a chemical spill of Potassium Chloride KCI)/Potash. The report received from the technical engineering staff was that where other electrical equipment suffered damage with chemical intrusion through leaking seals and gaskets, the TPO1 fittings received a wash and wipe down with no physical damage to the internal or external components of the fitting.

The design of the TPO1 with its high standards of IP and IK ratings prevailed proving its ability as a strong  industrial luminaire.

The removable centre piece in the end caps at each end of the luminaire allows easy entry through a 20mm gland to enable a quick connection to the wiring terminals without affecting the internal integrity of the fitting and IP ratings.  This will accommodate single flex and plug connection, or conduit and cable loop connection. It is designed for surface mounting to either ceiling, walkway rails, or walls  (for sign illumination).

The hinged mounting brackets, with pre-installed locking screws, have been designed to simplify installation and allow rotation of the fitting. Once the locking screw is tightened the fitting is locked in place. Suspension wire kits are also available.

Standard wattages of 28w, 40w, 56w, 84w are available. The CCT ratings available are 5500K, 4000K, and 3000K, with an internal reflector beam angle of 140 degrees. Dimmable versions are available.

The emergency version has remote battery packs that can be mounted to the 78mm diameter carcase of the TPO1 luminaire or mounted separately, to allow for the emergency lighting design to meet the AS2293 requirements.
